The Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board (IDB) hosted its annual “Red Carpet Community Tour” for site selectors, economic development consultants and developers.

The Red Carpet Tour event, hosted annually by the Clarksville-Montgomery County IDB, showcases the community, its wonderful amenities and talent to site selectors and potential developers.

The theme this year was “Discover the Magic”, with a rich speakeasy atmosphere - showcasing the charm of the people and community that Clarksville-Montgomery County EDC experiences every day. Guests enjoyed an evening at Dock 17 and the City Forum; participated in the Fort Campbell soldier for a day experience, a community tour, and an evening of entertainment at Old Glory Distilling Company.

This event is a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about the assets that Clarksville-Montgomery County and the surrounding area have to offer. Highlighted on the tour were Corporate Business Park, Austin Peay State University, and the Wilma Rudolph retail corridor. Available property, local infrastructure, workforce, and educational opportunities were also promoted.

“The Red Carpet Tour event has become to be one of the most compelling ways for the IDB to engage consultants and familiarize them with available resources in our community,” said Wally Crow, chairman of the Clarksville-Montgomery County IDB. “It also serves as a unique way to say thank you by incorporating our regional and local partners that make the work of our team possible.”

The evening before the community tour, VIP guests were treated to a private dinner, at Dock 17, followed by time spent enjoying the various attractions at City Forum. This year's Red Carpet event included developers from BNA Associates, Reeves Young, and NAI.

Along with the special guests, members of the IDB Board, Aspire Investors, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), State of Tennessee Economic and Community Development (ECD), and local elected officials attended the reception to network and share the growth and opportunities within the Clarksville-Montgomery County community.

“The Red Carpet Tour gives our VIP guests an opportunity to network with the key partners in the local community and enjoy the vibrancy and patriotism of Clarksville-Montgomery County,” said Khandra Smalley, incoming chairman for the Clarksville-Montgomery County IDB. “Assets like Fort Campbell are strong economic drivers and unique to the region. Our assets, paired with the proximity to the bustling city of Nashville, makes for an MSA that provides a high caliber workforce and exceptional quality of life.”

“Through the generous funding of the Aspire Foundation, our guests were able to experience the area and take with them an understanding of the abundance of assets Clarksville-Montgomery County has to offer incoming prospects,” said Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council and Aspire Foundation Executive Director Buck Dellinger.
