IDB Welcomes David Chesney As New Chairman

Clarksville, TN.  – July 9, 2015 -  The Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board (IDB) is pleased to announce David Chesney as the Chairman of the Board for the 2015-2016 term. Chesney will also serve as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Clarksville-Montgomery County EDC.

Prior to retirement in 2001, Chesney invested 35 years in industry as President of Nestaway (an Axia Holding Company Division) and management positions with Electrolux, General Electric and the Corning Glass Company. He is a class of ’66 graduate of Austin Peay State College with a degree in Business Administration. The lifelong Clarksvillian has been married to wife Kathryn for more than 50 years and the couple have two children and three grandchildren. 

Also serving on the Industrial Development Board Executive Committee this year are; Billy Atkins, Vice-Chairman; Carl Wilson, Secretary-Treasurer; Niesha M. Wolfe; Joyce Norris; Jeff Turner; David Smithfield; Suzanne Langford; Carl Wilson; and David Riggins.

Ex-Officio members of the Board include; Mike Evans, IDB Executive Director; Cal Wray, EDC Executive Director; Dick Batson, Board Counsel; Dr. Alisa White, President, APSU; County Mayor Jim Durrett and City Mayor Kim McMillan.

The Industrial Development Board meets on the second Wednesday of each month.  Meetings are open to the public and notice is posted at the Economic Development Council office, City Hall and the Montgomery County Courts Complex.

(Agero) is expanding its call center operation and strengthening its presence in Clarksville, with a capital investment of $2 Million and the creation of 900 jobs. The state-of-the-art call center, established in 2012, provides critical roadside assistance and safety and security services.
