Frank Tate is the Executive Director of the Montgomery County Industrial Development Board, a position he has held since July 2018. As the Executive Director, he is responsible for recruiting new businesses to the area and marketing the Clarksville-Montgomery County Corporate Business. Frank is also tasked to work extensively with the existing industry on workforce training, expansion plans, and other needs. Frank is a graduate of Kaplan University where he earned a B.A. Degree while serving in the Navy. Prior to his work with the Industrial Development Board, Frank, an Owensboro, KY native, served in a similar role in McKenzie, TN and also as a regional workforce and economic development director for the State of Kentucky.


James C. Matthews

JC came to Clarksville from the small town of Dyersburg, Tenn. by way of Austin Peay State University where he obtained a B.S. degree in Public Management. JC recently obtained his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Bethel University and has over nine years in the customer service field for various companies in different positions. His role at the IDB has him working closely with consultants and our state partners in gathering, organizing and presenting pertinent information for potential corporate clients. 


Vonda Gates

Vonda joined the IDB team in March of 2019 and brings nearly 15 years of economic development experience. An experienced economic development professional she has a passion for community development. Her background includes an extensive history of working with existing businesses and industries to build relationships fostering capital investment and job growth.


Christy Govea

Originally from the Clarksville area, Christy joined the IDB staff in the fall of 2018. As an experienced administrative professional, she is well versed in facilitating support services and office management for c-suite level executives. Along with serving in administrative roles, Christy has a background in human resources, having been involved with payroll, personnel files, reporting, and employee retention programs for a large local industry.
